Hi folks! Want to make a difference? Have a recipe you’d like featured by The Newlywed Chefs? Perfect! We’re cooking for a cause and need your support! As some of you know, Whitney is a music therapist and participating in a fundraising (or as we like to call it… fundbraising) effort to benefit the national music therapy organization, The American Music Therapy Association.
“The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) represents over 5,000 music therapists, corporate members, and related associations worldwide. AMTA’s roots date back to organizations founded in 1950 and 1971. Those two organizations merged in 1998 to ensure the progressive development of the therapeutic use of music in rehabilitation, special education, and medical and community settings. AMTA is committed to the advancement of education, training, professional standards, and research in support of the music therapy profession.
The mission of the organization is to advance public knowledge of music therapy benefits and increase access to quality music therapy services. Currently, AMTA establishes criteria for the education and clinical training of music therapists. Members of AMTA adhere to a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice in their delivery of music therapy services. Through the “Journal of Music Therapy” and “Music Therapy Perspectives,” as well as other publications offered by AMTA, research findings and clinical studies relevant to the practice of music therapy are shared with interested professionals, consumers, and the general public.” -FirstGiving AMTA Site
Here is how our fundbraiser works:
1. Donate any amount of money (every penny counts!) through this page to benefit the American Music Therapy Association
2. Once you make your donation, e-mail your favorite recipe to: email@example.com. Not all recipes need to be braised! Any dish works! Please limit one recipe per donation. The last day to submit recipes is November 1, 2013.
3. Stay tuned as we announce your recipe on our Facebook page, Twitter feed, and blog.
4. Watch in early November to see which recipes we featured at the party! We’ll blog photos, reviews, and detail the night’s events on our blog!
Thank you for supporting the American Music Therapy Association!
