Cinder House, located on the 8th floor of Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, is a magical place for a date night! The Four Seasons is dressed in its holiday best, with festive lights and decorations around every corner. They have a pop-up holiday shop with local gifts that is open Saturday and Sunday (Yes! Even on Christmas Day!) from 9:30am-7:00pm.
Our experience at Cinder House was incredible. Gerard Craft and his team are doing great things there. We recommend starting at the bar with one of their reinvented classic cocktails while taking in the stunning view of the arch.
Dia’s cheese bread takes 25 minutes to bake, so be sure to order that as you’re being seated.
We started off with oysters with a savory mignonette sauce, and also a beet salad with (dream-haunting) homemade ricotta.
The sommelier, Anthony, selected a 2011 tempranillo to accompany our meal.
One entrees we had the filet mignon with pomme puree. The pomme puree is a side dish that is not to be missed. The butter ratio in that dish is… well… incredible.
For the other entree, we had the American lamb duo, with both lamb loin and lamb chorizo.
Do NOT skip dessert. The traditional flan and chocotorta were both divine, as was the mezcal sipping caramel and shortbread cookies.
The service at Cinder House was unmatched. Our waiter, Eric, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed picking his brain about the dishes and also getting to know him. We give Eric so much respect for making sure we had the very best experience. Book your reservation for Cinder House at the Four Seasons on their website, and be sure to stop by their holiday pop-up shop to grab some last-minute local gifts this weekend!
