The hype is real. Telva at The Ridge is fantastic. Of course, we’d expect no less from the Nalic family (of Balkan Treat Box fame). Located within the expansive Rolling Ridge Nursery building in Webster Groves, Telva serves Balkan coffee, pastries, and other dishes for breakfast and lunch.
The traditional Bosnian-style khava coffee is boiled and served in a copper pot, along with a sugar cube and Turkish delight.
We tried the cilbir (Turkish eggs): garlic yogurt, tomato-chile brown butter, egg, herbs – and holy cow, we’re still dreaming about that one.
Couldn’t leave without taking a few pastries to-go- the tahini bun was reminiscent of a cinnamon roll, and the Telva cookie is laden with chocolate chunks, orange, and pistachios.
Telva is open Wednesday through Saturday 8:00am – 3:00pm, Sunday 9:00am – 3:00pm.
