This Sunday, April 25th, is a pretty wonderful holiday. Believe it or not, it’s NATIONAL STEAK DAY. We all need a little something to celebrate these days and this holiday is something we can certainly support! Verde Farms has a variety of delicious selections to help us all celebrate. We’ve been focusing our Verde content on their Simply! Sous Vide line, but today we’d like to introduce you to a whole different side of Verde: their organic raw selections. At Schnucks, right next to the butcher’s counter, you’ll find organic ribeyes, sirloins, filets, strips, and even ground beef. For our National Steak Day celebration, we decided to go big with their 10-oz. ribeyes.
Simple. Honest. Real. Verde Farms call these values the “Verde Way,” and you know what? Values matter. The beef from Verde Farms is 100% grass-fed, free range, antibiotic free and hormone free. One thing we liked about buying their raw meat is that we were still in charge of the flavors and how it cooked, but just knowing that it’s also meat that’s been treated so well makes a difference when we’re thinking about which brand of steak to buy.
Check out that marbling on these ribeyes. Beautiful! We grilled them following a method close to this one by Bobby Flay. We removed the steaks from the packaging, dried them with paper towels, sprinkled them with salt and pepper, and let them sit. Then we fired up the grill and cooked them for about 4-5 minutes per side until the internal temperature reached 135°F.
Finally, these beauties took a little nap and rested on a plate for about five minutes before we served them for dinner. To make this meal even more special, we added a side of garlic whipped potatoes and some fresh bread and butter.
We hope you join us on Sunday in celebrating National Steak Day! Head over to Schnucks this weekend and grab a Verde Farms ribeye or any of their tasty selections in preparation for your celebration.
